Freelensing!

Now that it is FINALLY feeling like spring here in New England, I have felt more inspired to get out and really photograph nature again!  It is just so inspiring to go out and feel the warmth of the sun and listen to the birds singing their beautiful spring songs.   Currently I am hooked on a technique called freelensing http://content.photojojo.com/tutorials/tilt-shift-and-macro-freelensing/.  You do this by using a 50mm lens and instead of attaching it to your camera you actually hold it up to the camera backwards for a dreamy macro effect or not backwards for a tilt shift lens effect.   My favorite is the dreamy macro effect.

Here are some examples of what I got just photographing the pine trees in my yard.   Happy Spring!
